I noticed this issue for the overlay layer as there is no overlay at all on the other map currently. Plugin commands I wrote in the event: - Show Picture 1 - BindPictureToMap 1 belowtilemap - Show Picture 2 - BindPictureToMap 2 abovecharacters - Erase Event Spent almost a day on the internet to find solutions but couldnt get answers -.-. Otherwise they will just stay visible on the map no matter where you transfer to. Some geospatial data on this website is provided by geonames.org. However, after getting so little feedback on the issue both on the subreddit and on the RPG Maker forums, I figured the issue mightve been in the plugin I was using. After testing, I can conclude that I was both right and wrong. There is, in fact, an issue where images are kept and never disposed of in MV, meaning that as the player goes through maps with big images (such is the case with parallax mapping), the RAM usage will creep up, up, up, until the game client is reloaded, which would force the images to be disposed. ![]() I know some of you are using this plugin, so I have to recommend a swap over to Hudells Orange Overlay. After swapping over to this plugin, I went from gaining 0.5gb of RAM per map change to 0.1gb, which is so much more manageable. This was all tested on a brand new project using only a map overlay plugin and no other plugin or specialty, utilizing parallax maps that were 70x70 and 80x80 in size. I noticed with TDDPs plugin, as well, that if you re-enter a map that you already loaded, it increases your memory by about 0.5gb even though its already loaded, meaning that the plugin itself suffers a memory leak issue. At the end of the day, MV still has a bit of a memory leak issue, but if youre using TDDPs plugin, youre going to notice it so much more. Well, you know what I meant. Huddells might be fine if you want to just do something real simple. I didnt really test other parallax plugins, so there may be a better alternative still that better suits you and also helps solve the problem. Continue this thread level 1 1 point 3 years ago How big are these source images that youre using even.1gb of RAM Thats still 100mb, which is INCREDIBLY large level 2 1 point 3 years ago Image files get exponentially larger in filesize, especially for larger map sizes. Its why I personally only use parallax mapping for single-screen interiors, but I know a lot of people like to use them for forests and such, which would have a lot of data.
